Hi I'm Vitor Pereira - born on the 17th July 1972 in Lisbon, Portugal which is also where I currently live.

I work as a senior software developer for an engineering company (non IT related) doing mostly Lotus Notes\Domino development. I started in this industry some 15 years ago as an RPG programmer coding software on the IBM AS/400 midrange system for an IBM business partner. We started looking at Lotus Notes when R4 came out and the boss came from a meeting with IBM and dropped a box on my desk with a note that said something like 'find out what it is and see if we can do any business with this', and so I did.

My job involves designing applications that integrate back-end systems like the AS/400 and S/390 with Lotus Notes\Domino, serving both Notes clients and web browsers. It is really the best of two worlds, robust, scalable and reliable back-end platforms and the flexibility and portability of the Lotus products. And I get to do it in a company that is always investing heavily in research and development of new technologies. Great job all around.

On the personal front I am a happily (recently) married 35 year old that enjoys life to its fullest.
